Dragon Ball Kai ends at Cell Saga - rant

Hi there everyone who might be seeing this. I know I haven't been around here for a long time, even if in my my last post I promised I would update more often. I'm ashamed really, and I have o excuse.But hey, at least I'm still alive and kicking.

Anyway, for those who like me, are major dragon ball fans, you probably know that Dragon Ball Kai, the remake of Akira Toriyama's hit series Dragon Ball (Z) was ended at the end of the Cell saga. And that is just wrong, if you ask me. What about the Buu saga? Was it not worth the effort? Now there is a whole new generation of kids that didn't watched the original DBZ who will never know the greatness that was Goku in ssj3 form, the cuteness of little Goten, the epicness of fusion characters, and the fun that Majin Buu was as a villain. Sigh, it makes no sense. I've heard that the tv rations in Japan were quite good, winning over other popular series like Naruto Shippuuden and Bleach, so that must not have been it. Rumor has it that the DVD/Blu-ray and merchandise sales weren't going so well. And the scandal of plagiarism in the background music by Kenji Yamamoto probably didn't help. But even so, I would like to see a new season of Dragon Ball Kai. An unfinished remake isn't a remake at all.

Fortunately, there is plenty of other animes to watch. Naruto is old news, Bleach is boring at the moment, and from all the new animes of this year's Spring Season, I haven't seen anything that would catch my eye. X-Men, Ao no Exorcist and Toriko are my best bets, and maybe the second season of The World God Only Knows [I liked the first season despite it not being my kind of anime]. From the animes that have ended just recently, I'll miss Kimi ni Todoke (season 2) ♥ Bakuman, and of course, Dragon Ball Kai. And I hope to continue to watch for a long time Fairy Tail (which is awesome by the way) and Beelzebub.

As for mangas, I'm up to date with several series: Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Bakuman, Freezing, Kimi ni Todoke, Highschool of the Dead and I'm still praying for the Korean manga Veritas to get a second part. The changes are low, but I still have given up hoping.

I think that is it for today's update. I can't make any promises, but I'll try not to be another year go by until my next post XD

Hi there! I know I've been neglecting this place but I'll try to update more often, with movie and anime reviews and all sorts of other entertainment news. After all, that was the point to this blog.

As for the weekly update of a new Dragonball Kai episode, I have stopped with that long ago, as some of might have noticed. Why? Well, I had a few internet problems that prevent me from uploading the episodes, and there are a lot of other places where you can download and watch the episodes, like getdbkai.com.

I'll be leaving now, I plan to go watch "Avatar" today, and see what's the big fuss is about. I'll get back here soon to tell you my thoughts on it.

Yes it's true, I'm not dead yet. I know I haven't post anything in ages but I promisse to resume the upload of the DB Kai episodes as soon as my classes start again. Right now I'm still on vacations/working at a summer job and I didn't have the time to upload any episodes or anything else. The lack of time is the main reason but the fact that my internet connection at home is so slow doesn't help either.

As soon as my classes restart I'll have access to a better internet connection and things will get back on track. Until then, please be patient.

As for more new things to come, I'm thinking of also posting the links for the download of anime soundtracks (Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach, Naruto Shippuuden, ect) and also the links of some OVAS.

Thoughts of Insecurity

Disclaimer: This is purely fan mande, I do not own anything associated with Dragonball (Z) and its characters. Dragonball (Z) belong to Akira Toriyama and Toei Animation Studios.

Setting: Two weeks have passed since the battle against the Saiyans. Goku is in the hospital and Gohan, Krillin and Bulma had recently left to Namek, hunting for the Dragon Balls in order to bring back to life Yamcha, Tien, Chaotzu and Piccolo.

Goku was laying on the hospital bed, meditating (there were nothing else he could do ) on his current life situation. He had fight against Nappa and Vegeta, the Saiyans who had come to conquer earth and avenge their fellow saiyan Raditz. After being dead for a hole year he had almost died again in battle. However Goku felt as peaceful and rested as he hadn't felt over a long time. The battle was over and if his son Gohan and best friends Bulma and Krillin succeed in finding the Namekian Dragon Balls, his late friends Yamcha, Tien and Chaotzu would be brought to life. He could only hope for his friends to find little or no troubles at all in their hunt for the Dragon Balls.

Lost in his thoughts, Goku didn't realize that Master Roshi had entered the room and was now aproching his bedside.

“ Hello my boy, how are you feeling today?”

“Ahhhhhh!” Goku jump in suprise. “Master Roshi, I didn't see you coming in.”

“I can see that. Were you daydreaming about some hot nurse?” Asked the pervert old man with a wink.

“Of course not, master. Why would I? I was just wondering if our friends will handle thenselves on Namek.”

“Don't worry to much my boy. I'm sure they are ok. You just focus on getting better.”

“You right master. They will be just fine.”

“So. Where is that nagging wife of yours?”

“Please master, don't talk about ChiChi that way. You know she means well. She just worries to much about Gohan's safety.”

“Yeh, yeh, I know. But she should care more about you as well. You're the one who almost died and I don't see her around”.

Goku frowned with his master statement. He never complained about ChiChi's behaviour but now he was feeling a little bit negglected. While Gohan was also in the hospital ChiChi had never left the hospital. Even if not for him, she would be there for Gohan. And he would get to see her. But Gohan had left to Namek three days ago and she had never visit him since then. She must be busy cathing up on the housework, since she had done none since the day of the great battle. Goku thought, trying to asure himself...

“Why the long face, Goku?” asked Master Roshi. “Trouble with the mistress?”

“Uhm?... ah, no... no trouble at all.” Goku smilled but not very convincingly. Lying has never been is forte.

“If you say so.” The old man said, not really believing it.

Master Roshi and Goku talk for about half an hour before the visit time ended and then Goku's old master left, leaving Goku alone with his thoughts.

Why doesn't she comes to visit me? Is she angry? Yeah. That must be it. She problably blames me for Gohan's kidnapping a year ago. Her boy was taken away from her and it's all my fault. And now she hates me for giving Gohan permission to go hunt for the dragon balls, in another planet. That's the only explaination... Or is it? And if she simply stopped loving me? I've been gone for a whole year. Add that to her fury for what happen to Gohan and you have a suitable reason for her not to love me anymore. Oh, Kami.

A sudden sadness and dispair struck the usually cheerful Goku. The possibility of not having ChiChi's love anymore was almost impossible to bare. He had always taken her for granted. For the following hours Goku wrestled with these thoughts. Even when his tired and sore body claimed him to sleep, Goku has still haunted in his dreams by his early doubts.

In the next morning Goku had breakfast still seaching for alternative reasons for ChiChi's behaviour towards him. But nothing came to him.

“Oh man. I miss ChiChi's home cooking. And I miss her. Why isn't she visiting me? Doens't she care about me anymore? Even if she doesn't love me she's still my wife. I'm still her son's father! What I'm I saying? I don't know for sure if that is true. Of course she still loves me... Just calm down Goku. Don't jump into conclusions.” Goku told to himself, taking a deep breath in a attempt to calm himself. “She is problably coming to visit me today, or so I hope...”

But another day come to a end and the only visits Goku had were Mr. Briefs to discuss the possibility of building another spaceship and Mr. Popo had also stepped by to check on him. In the next day Goku's only visit was Yahjarobi who brought him some senzu beans.

“Thanks Yahjarobi! I'm so glad you brought those senzu beans”. And with that said Goku swolled a bean and within seconds was back on his feet again, for the doctor and nurse's incredibility. In a flash Goku dressed his orange gi and flied through the window.

“Next stop, home!” Goku yelled in joy while flying across the West City sky.

In the small dome shapped house on Mount Paozu ChiChi was busy doing some tasks of her housework.

“ Uff... The bedrooms are clean and so it is the upstairs bathroom. Now to the kitchen and then the living room and the downstairs bathroom.”

ChiChi kept herself busy just to keep her mind from sliping to Gohan. If she allowed herself she would most likely worry to death. And then there was the other subject. Goku. She was so angry with him for letting Gohan to go hunting for the Dragon Balls in another planet.

How could he... Let a child, his child, go alone seaching for the Dragon Balls. Sure he wasn't really alone. He had with him Bulma, a spoiled, rich 30-year-old that was as responsible and wise as a 16 year-old teenager and Krillin. Goku's best friend who still lived at Master Roshi's and was as inresponsible as Goku. It was almost the same as going alone. Rrrrr. And why? Could not the Dragon Balls wait until Goku's full recovery? His friends were dead and weren't going anyhere. They could wait. And that was Goku's responsibility, not Gohan's. She has being shelfish, she knew but all she cared about now was her baby boy.“Stop ChiChi. There you go again thinking about that jerk. He doesn't deserve your time... Who am I fooling. I can't stop thinking about him. He's the man I love, my husband and the father of my child. No matter what he does or how angry he makes me feel, I still love him. Oh Kami. I'm such a terrible wife. He's been dead for a year and now that he's back I just ignored him. I should go visit him. But first, I must finish the housework and then I should cook something for my Goku. That hospital food must be terrible and I don't think they give him enough food to satisfy his huge apetite... Anyway, back to work.”

Not far from there was Goku, flying at high speed. In other circunstances he would have used the Flying Nimbus but he had chosen not to use it in order to completly enjoy his regained habilities.

“Oh man, it sure feels good to fly again. I had enough of that hospital. It will be so good to be back home again. It has been so long. But I'm still not sure about how will ChiChi react to my presence there.”

As Goku began to see his home far bellow, his smile fade away. He would confront ChiChi about his doubts. He had to know if she still loved him.

When Goku entered his home the only thing he could see was the spotless house. The furniture had been dusted and the floor had been washed and waxed.

She has been cleaning alright. But then again, that's ChiChi. Goku thought with a small smile in his face. And it smells good. She must have been cooking too. But she isn't here. Maybe she is upstairs. And so Goku went upstairs, directly to his bedroom. Their bedroom. When he entered the room he realized she wasn't there but the he heard the sound of runnig water coming from the bathroom. She problably went for a bath, after all this cleaning. Should I go in there or wait here? I guess I'll wait here. She is already angry at me. I don't need to angry her even more for storming into the bathroom.

And so he sat down on his side of the bed and took off his boots. Then he laied down on his back, closed his eyes and took in the familiar quiteness of the room and it's scents.

It's so good to be back.

When ChiChi had finished her relaxing bath she stepped out of the tub and wraped a soft white towel around her wet body and another around her also wet black hair.

Kami. This bath felt really good. It really was what I needed. Now I must get ready quickly, if I want to be in the hospital in time for the last visiting hour of the day.

ChiChi walked out of the bathroom with the towel covering her face as she as drying her hair and therefore she didn't notice Goku on the bed right away. It was only when she stumble on Goku's heavy boots that she took notice of someone laid down on the bed.

“What the h... Goku? What are you doing here?”

Goku opened his eyes and look at ChiChi, examening every single detail of his wife's body. Kami. She is so beautiful. I allmost forgot how incredible beautiful she is. It's been so long since I last saw her this way. Goku was lost in his awe and didn't respond to ChiChi right away.

“Are you listening Goku? What are you doing here? You should be in the hospital! Don't tell me you ran away again!?!?!”

“Uhm... Oh! ChiChi... ah, no I didn't escape. Well, sort of. I'm fine now so I just left.”

“What are you talking about? Three days ago you couldn't even move!”

“Yeah, but I ate a senzu bean today and now I'm fully recovered.”

Finally realizing how was possible for him to be in her presence as if nothing had happened, ChiChi felt the urgent need of falling into Goku's arms, hugging and kissing him. But imediatly her proud prevented her from doing so. She thought she needed to act distant. After all, she was still mad at him for taking Gohan to Master Rohi's a year ago and for supporting Gohan's decision on going to Namek.

“Well, what are you planning to do now that you have restored your full health?”

Imediatly Goku knew that ChiChi's distant and cold atitude towards him meant that she was still angry with him. And his worst fear came back to his mind again. Doesn't she love me anymore?

“ChiChi, I know your angry with me. And you're right. I should have not taken Gohan with me when I went to visit my friends. If I would have gone alone, Gohan would be safe with you. I'm sorry.”

Goku's apologize took ChiChi by surprise. She had blame him for that but now listening to his sincere words, a stab of guilt went through her heart. It wasn't his fault. There was no way for him to know what would happen. And he did sacrificed himself to save Gohan. But still ChiChi stood emotion and speechless. And Goku continued.

“And now I will go meet Gohan and our friends in Namek to help them. Mr Briefs is building a new spaceship with the pices of the my spaceship when I first arrived on Earth as a baby. I will bring Gohan backto you, safe and soud. I promise you.”

Again ChiChi hesitated when she listenned to Goku's words. However, her only response was walking in inside the bathroom again, with some clothes to put on. Goku was devasteted. She won't even speak to me. She didn't even made proper eye contact. And that means that it's true. She doesn't love me anymore.

Goku slowly walk out of the room, unsure of what to do now or where to go. But one thing he knew: he and ChiChi would have to talk seriously about the future of their marriage, or divorce for what matter.

While ChiChi was putting her clothes on, she was regreting what she had just done. Wasn't she going to far on her plan to make Goku suffer a little? Yes, she was. There he was, apologizing for something that really wasn't his fault and even if it was, he had already been through a lot. And so ChiChi storm out of the bathroom determinated to go over Goku and jump in his arms, as she had wanted for so long. But he wasn't there. As fast as she could, ChiChi ran downstairs. Where did he went? Fortunately, Goku was still there. Laid against the wall, his eyes on the floor, with the saddest look on his face she ever seen. Tears welled up on ChiChi's own eyes. He looked miserable and it was all her fault.

“Goku? What's wrong?”

“ChiChi, don't you love me anymore?” Goku asked still staring at the floor.

That question struck ChiChi like a lightning. “What? Why do you ask that? Don't you want to be married with me anymore?”

“Uh!... Of course I still want to be married to you, ChiChi. But only if you still love me.”

“But I DO LOVE YOU, Goku!” Why whould you think such a thing?”

“Well, because of the way you have been acting lately. You didn't visited me at the hospital since Gohan has left and you didn't even spoke to me properly ever since Shenlong brought me to life. And just a moment ago you completly ignored me.”

With those words ChiChi collapse on her knees, crying her eyes out. Walling liked she had never done since a long time. And that was a thing that was unbareble to Goku. Seeing ChiChi crying was torture to him. And so he did the only thing he could think of in that moment. Goku held ChiChi in his arms, offering ChiChi the most conforting hug he could give.

Some minutes passed, the pair stood there silently, sharing only the warmth of their bodies in their embrace. Slowly, ChiChi's sobs came to a stop.

“ChiChi, please don't cry anymore. I'm sorry for having doubts about your love.”

“But you were right to have doubts. I'm a terrible wife. What kind of woman treats the man she loves the way I did? And when you needed me the most, of all times! I'm ashamed of myself.”

“Please, don't talk like that, ChiChi. I love you just the way you are. Let's forget about what happened. ChiChi only answer to Goku's words was a smile. A smile of joy and love. And taken that as a sign that everything was ok again, Goku kissed ChiChi on the lips. First softly but then deepening the kiss as passion took over.

That day ChiChi and Goku resumed the love that both felt for each other since their wedding day. A love that had been abrutly interrupt a year ago, with Raditz arrival and Goku's death. Hapinness had finally came back into their lives. However, it would be put on hold again with Goku's departure to Namek in aid of his son and friends.

Art Comunnities: DeviantART and Blasting Art.Inc

Until a year a go I was completely unaware of such things was art communities. But when I came across deviantART I just knew I had to join it. At the time I was looking for some Dragonball fanart and somehow, there was where a Google search lead me to. I was astonished to the quality and quantity/diversity of fanart and fanartist it held. At first I registered only to start my own collection of "faves" (the short abreviation of favourites used by deviants = members of deviantart). And I was only interested in fanart. But soon I saw myself jaw dropping at other pieces of art made by other incredible artists. I became addicted and today I can't spend a day without checking it out.

I'm a member of DA for amost an year and a half, and in that time I made lots of friends, friends to who you can talk seriously or simple just have silly conversations and have a good laugh. I also started making my own fanart. Obviously I'm not a brilliant artist but I intend to get better through effort and who knows, in the feature I might even start doing my own original art.

DeviantArt is an well known and well established art community, home for thousands of artists and millions of great piece of art (of all kinds of tallent and material; digital art or traditional art). In these 8 years of its existence, DA grew to become the most popular art community online but there are also others who are less know but that in time may become even better than DA. I'm talking about Blasting Art Inc. This other art community is less than a year old but is already a great place for artists to be. It's growing at a steady pace and it has to offer many the features of DA, and some other features - like drawing online with a photoshop tool - that DA doens't have. I strongly recommend you people to join this art community because there you have more chances of getting into the spotlight. Something that is a little more difficult to happen at DA because of the overwhelming number of users . Most of them, despite their amazing tallent, are overshadowed and go unoticed. That i something that is unlikely to happen in BA, at least not now that the site is still growing and the number of users allows to every member to shine.

So, the bottom of line is, if you like art (whatever the kind) you should join these two art communites NOW!

Best Free Art Software for Digital Artists

Have you ever wanted to start creating digital art, being it origial or fanart, but you never knew where to start? Or you wished to have Adobe Photoshop or any other popular softwares but you can't aford it? Well, you can still make awesome pieces of art with other programs, without spending a dime and without doing any illegal downloading.

There are plenty of other free softwares that you can use, most of them much esier to use than Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw. I personally used a few of them. I started with Paint.NET. This program comes with all the essentials you need to do digital art. Layers, filters, effects and the commun tools (pencil, brush, eraser, select tool, bucket tool, etc.) and you can achive satisfying results. And the best thing is that is a small and light program, that doens't make your computer slow and crash. And to top it all, you don't need to be an expert on digital art to master it very quickly. I was a total noob in digital art, I had only used MS Paint (the program that comes with Microsoft Windows Series computers) before and I quicky learned my way around Paint.NET.

The people responsible for the development of Paint.NET say with proud that it is the advanced version of MS Paint. Furthermore, you can add plugins (that you can download from the official site's forum) to make you art projects look even more professional. In my point of view, the only downside of Paint.NET is the lack of soft brushes, very popular among digital artists, but some rumors says that those will be added in the next version [v.4].Bottom of line is, this is a great way to get you started with digital painting.

Another good freeware program, and very popular is the one know as The GIMP. This software is very complete and there isn't much you can do with Photoshop that you can't do with GIMP. Layers, filters, soft and hard brushes, advanced tools (dodge and burn tools, blend and blur tools and even the oh-so-famous pen tool, used to create paths, the base behind vector art), whatever you wish in a art software GIMP has it all. When comparing the GIMP with Paint.NET the first wins by the points because it has much more to offer but it also has its down sides. For instance, GIMP is much difficult to learn how to use all the great things it has to offer, but it isn't nothing that you can't master in time. However, for me, its major flaw is in the interface. Everything is separeted by windows, which is normal, every program does that, the problem is that you can't have them open and displayed in your screen at the same time. You have to maximize the window you want to acess and them go back to the picture you are working on through the same process. It is annoying, not pratical and very time consuming. But then again, that's something you can get used to in time.

There is also another program very popualar among digital artists but it's only free in it's first version. It's called Open Canvas. It was developed in Japan and it comes in Japanese but it is so popular that fans have translated it and even the official website has now an made available english versions. Anyway, why is Open Canvas so popular, you might ask. Well, for start, it's light, easy to use and it makes lines very soft and smooth. And in top of that, it has tools that helps you create images that very much recreate traditional paintings (watercolors, airbrushes, etc.). In the most recent versions, it has plenty more to offer, however those aren't freeware.

There are many other programs that you can use for creating your digital art, but the ones described above are the only free ones that I've tried and recommend. Of course you can always buy the more advanced ones (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Ilustrator, Corel Draw, Corel Painter, etc) but I don't recomend trying those ones before practicing and learning the basics of digital art with the free and easy to use softwares that you can easily download from the internet, and without doing anything illegal.

Dragonball Evolution Review

As you have already notice, I'm a big fan of the manga/anime Dragonball (all series) so, of course, I was excited when I was told that Twenty Century Fox had bought the rights to the adaptation to the 7th art. When the first romours leaked about the plot and cast I was rather shocked but at the same time still optimistic. Finally, when the first CAM versions of the movie leaked out to the internet I couldn't help but to watch it online. My first reaction was one of disgusted. Of course I was alread expecting extreme differences from the manga and anime but nothing could prepare me for what was presented to my very eyes. I won't go to details so I will just list the many things that I really dislike and bothered me and the very few that I actually liked.

Things that I liked about the movie:

The scenes where Goku (Justin Chatwin) and ChiChi (Jamie Chung) interacted were funny and cute (even if very corny);
The theme song ( "Rule" by Hamasaki Ayumi);
The Kung-Fu action scenes and the visual effects of Goku's Kamehameha wave.

Things that I didn't like or thought that weren't dragonball-like at all:

ALL characters were "out of character". Yamcha was problably the only one that was ok;
Goku doesn't believe in himself and his potential, the total oposite of the Goku from Mr. Akira Toryama's manga;
All the talk about air blending and stuff. This is Dragonball people, not "Avatar, The Last Airbender";
Everything about the Oozaru thing. Spcially the CG effects. Very crappy effects for a movie that took so long to be ready (problably due budget issues but still...);
The completely ignored an important character on "Dragonball": Krillin. In the manga/anime he's Goku's best friend and still he's nowhere to be seen in the movie (maybe in the sequel, who knows);
The movie is very fast paced and a lot of things go unexplained and there is little room for character development. 80 minutes is very little for a movie like this.

There alot more things that I didn't like but I will let you see for yourselves.

New Dragonball: Dragon Ball Kai

As you can see, I'm still working on the construction of the blog but I for now I'm here to annouce a new Dragon Ball series... Yes, I'm a anime fan and I've been a Dragonball (DBZ and DBGT alike) fan since I can remember. Proof of that is my deviant art gallery (small gallery on the right collum) that is full of fanart of it. Well, as I was saying, a new series are broadcasting on Japan, named Dragon Ball Kai (kai = revised, remakee). As it's names indicate, it's the remake of the good old Dragon Ball Z.

So far, only 2 episodes were broadcasted, one per week. You can expect more updates about it from me. I shall also give you the links for the HQ episodes download.

For now, just take a look at some of my works on display at my deviantart gallery.

Hi! Welcome to my blog! As you might have noticed, there isn't much to see here YET. I'm still working on the site structure and contents. I have still to thing about the nature of the future post but I guess I'll figure it out along the way...

This blog will focuse the deebate and analysis of pretty much everything that concerns the entretainment are (TV, Films, Manga/Comics, Music, Art, etc) and I'm open to sugestions as well.
